I got my BS in Biology from a University but before that i went to a community college where my major was business but i didn't get any type of degree because i transfered from there into nyc and changed my major to Biology.

So is it necessary for me to mention the Community college on my Resume? and should i also add that i use to be a business major?

Thanks in advance =)

  1. Yeah, you should. Get as much information about your education history and schools on there as is reasonable.

  2. As long as you don't make up stuff, what you put on a resume is your decision.

  3. It is up to you whether to add or not. You don't add every job on a resume. What's the difference. You can cover that in the job interview. A resume is usually based upon the job you are applying for. You list the most relevant items and try to keep it on one page.

A thought though. I don't know how many classes/credits you have from the community college, but some of those business courses might open you up for other jobs and more possibilities. It's something to think about.

  4. only add what you want credit for.  That's like asking the dentist if you have to brush all of your teeth; only the ones you want to keep.

  5. It really isn't necessary. I only list the schools in which I graduated from. The only reason you would need to add that you use to be a business major is if it would apply to the position in which you are applying for.
