Question:

Do you have to apply to get a scholarship at NYU?

In a couple years, I would like to go to NYU. I would have to get a swimming scholarship or a full scholarship to go there. I dont want to apply for financial aid, because I don't want any loans. I don't want to be in debt at the age of 22, I have seen what debt does to people. Do I just apply for a swimming scholarship/full or how does that work? Do I send in my swimming scores? What do I do to get that kind of scholarship? What do I do? I am an upcoming freshman? I know that NYU hardly gives out scholarships. I could probably go to UGA for free, because of the Hope Scholarship. UGA just isn't good in the field I want to study. So, what do I do to make sure I get a good scholarship? Thanks!

  1. Go vist their website, http://www.nyu.edu.

  2. You don't apply, especially for athletic scholarships. The schools come to you. Schools with good swimming programs will her about certain swimmers' scores and grades and all that, and begin recruiting those students. If you're lucky, NYU will be one of those schools that will show interest in you

And for a top school like NYU, you would have to be really good at swimming to catchtheir attention enough to offer you an athletic scholarship.

  3. When you apply for FAFSA, you're automatically applying for the schools grants/scholarships too....unless there's a specific one you want that requires a seperate application....but you'll still have to apply for FAFSA to get that.

I'd suggest visiting their website, and setting up an appointment to talk to an advisor about it.
