Do you have to be 18 in order to rent a hotel room?

For my birthday in October me and my friends were thinking of going back to Philadelphia to Eastern State Penitentiary for this tour in the morning and a haunted house at night.Me and my two friends went there last year in September 07 but we went with my sister, her husband and a group of her older friends.We are thinking of taking a Coach bus there [Its only ten dollars to go there and ten dollars to come back] and to come back for the weekend.We live in New York.Last year since it was at the end of September i was 15 Just turning 16, but my other two friends were 16. Now we're all going to be 17 by the time its October, except for my friends boyfriend since his birthday is late in the year. Will they let us get a hotel room even though we're not 18, or do we have to wait to go back another year?

Yes you have to be 18, some places you even have to be 21

i think you do have to be 18. or the person that is renting the room for you has to be 18.  i've been to eastern state penitentiary by the way too! loved it....went during halloween.
