no... you definitely should go if you are 18, but you can go before if you have concerns or if have been sexually active

Some Dr.s will not see you without  a parent if you are under 18.  That is how it is at my ob/gyn office.  Planned parenthood does not require a parent and they will give BC and check for STDs.

No 18 is just a guideline. Like for instance if you're under 18 and not sexual active you really don't need to go, but say you get an yeast infection, then you would have to go. But you don't want to be 25 and never  gone so they use 18 as a time when you should start to get a Pap smear regardless of you sexual activity.

No hun! You should go before you turn 18.  It's very important for you to get your female check ups, not to say you are but especially if you are sexually active.
