It depends on the pawn shops policy, but in most cases you have to be 18 to pawn something.

Hello there,

You do have to be 18... and they will ask for ID to prove you are.    They won't only look at your information,  they will write it all down, including your address and telephone number.   Some places (here in my city) even ask for finger prints.  They do this because they have to make out a weekly list for the police who come in on Monday's to look for stolen property.  

So.... the pawn shop is bound by law to only do business with adults 18 and over.

Yes, even if you are selling you have to sign a legally binding form saying that the item you are sell in not stolen and so on. A miner signature is not legally binding.
