Do you have to be SUPER smart to become a pharmacist?

I really really want to become a pharmacist its been my dream job i think i would love it, but the only thing that is holding me back is that i was told you have to be super smart and its hard to get into some schoolings, what courses would i have to take i will be enrolling in my first year of sciences this year at the University Of Prince Edward Island.. After i finish this year will i still have the chance to go and become a pharmacist?, What are the pay for pharmacists, and how hard is it really to get into schooling to become a pharmacist?

Being super smart isn't a requirement.  Being willing to work and study is.   So is attention to detail.  A pharmacist's mistake can kill someone.  Lots of super smart people are scatterbrained, their minds going in ten directions at once.  This is great for creative pursuits but potentially disastrous for fields that require paying attention at all times.

I don't know what the prerequisites are for a pharmacy program in Canada.  Surely the school you attend now has guidance counselors.  That is their job.  Use one.

You have to be reasonably intelligent - but's what's more imporant is that you have to be one of those people who double/triple checks EVERYTHING you do.  Not quite OCD, but close.

well...i can tell you that normally it takes up to 6 years to complete pharmacy school. It may take less...i'm not 100% sure. I know that for a pharmacy technician, it doesn't take very long at all. I attended community college and received my certification as a Pharmacy tech in 2 semesters so...and the curriculum wasn't that hard. And basically, a pharmacy tech does the work that a pharmacist does except they CANNOT give a patient medical advice of any kind....but that also depends on where you live. In some states and different countries the rules are very different so I would research it if i were you....see what you can find out. Hope this helps!!
