  1. it i usually when u are old enough to walk and talk... .age 5 and over i've seen fly on their own.. but of course with the airlines knowledge that the person is young and in case they need special attention or help! if u are over 12, u dont need to notify the airline.  even younger kids may not need to notify the airline but then i wouldnt think that the parents were very caring.

  2. here in europe its 14. it depends on the continent you are in. If you fly alone(14-17 years old) you MUST have a paper (special.. assinged by the airline) that confirms that your parents let you fly alone, etc.

  3. That depends on the airline. Each airline has its own rules regarding "UMs" (unaccompanied minors) depending on the number of stops, length of flights, etc.

Some airlines will allow children to travel unaccompanied as young as age 5, particualrly if it's a non-stop flight.

Check with the different airlines that fly the routes you're interested in for their rules and, of course, expect to pay a surcharge

    In the other hand.................

There are no real age limits in learning to fly. Providing you are 14 years old or over, you can log all your flying towards the PPL course, although you must be at least 16 years old to be able to fly solo. The minimum age for the issue of a PPL is 17 years.

  4. if it's a domestic flight in the UK, you can be 14 to fly on your ow if you use FLYBE, you can also be younger but you have a steward person to look after you

  5. In America you have to wait till your 15. In Europe it is 14.

  6. No. On most major airlines (I think), there is a scheme where you inform the staff when you purchase your plane ticket that you're going to fly on your own and you want to fly as an unaccompanied minor. Unaccompanied minors are children who fly alone between the ages of 5 and 17 years old (according to the Singapore Airlines website).

From my experience, at the airport when whoever drops you off at the check-in counter, there will be a staff member who will take you through the custom procedures and stuff all the way to the gate. At the gate, they'll hand your documents to one of the flight crew who will be in charge of you. When you reach your destination, another staff member will meet you at the gate and bring you to collect your baggage and bring you to whoever you're meeting. You MUST have an adult meeting you at the destination. Yea, that's about it. There's always someone who's in charge of you.

I guess to answer your question, the minimum age to fly alone would be five years old. No one (I hope) in their right mind would let any child below that age fly alone.

    Hope this helps!
