Do you have to be a certain age to volunteer at Toys for Tots/similar places?

Hi. I'm 15, I'll be 16 in late November, and I want to volunteer at one of those places that gives toys to poor children at Christmas (like Toys for Tots). But do you have to be a certain age? Am I too young?

No, most Toys for Tots are run by local Marines in your area.  In October go to the USMC recruiter and tell them you want to help.  They will gratefully accept.  Running to pick up toys from collection sites will be of a big help.  Anticipate a recruiting press but it will be worth it.

Many organizations have their own rules.

Have you taken the initiative and called to ask????

Most volunteer groups are more than willing to let you know how you can help.  

If you can't volunteer right at the place--- how about organizing a fund raiser?????

there is no age limit that i know of

as long as your willing and capable of helping

Your are very thoughtful and caring to want to volunteer.  There is no age limit but you should have an adult with you when and if you go asking for donations.  

Many people will want to help but remember that these are all strangers...never go into their homes alone OK.  

I think its great that you want to help!
