Question:

Do you have to be a certain height to ride a scooter?

I'm very short. When I went to pick a scooter I had to get off the seat to get my feet on the ground. Is there a certain height you have to be to ride a scooter or do other riders also have to get off the seat to get their feet on the ground when they stop?

Another thing, is it difficult to keep the scooter upright or do you get used to it quickly?

Do you have any tips for me? I'm getting a Yamaha 125cc.

Thank you.

  1. There is no limit as to how high you have to be to ride a scooter or any bike for that matter as long as you can touch the ground comfortable without moving on and off the seat.

We use these for training people on their CBT it comes in 50cc or 125cc. This is good bike for short people like yourself as many of them can touch the floor on these. Some scooters can be lowered so you can reach the floor.

Are you finding the scooter too heavy or are you struggling to hold it up because you can't reach the floor properly?

If its too heavy - look at a different scooter.

If its because you can't touch the floor properly - see if you are able to have the scooter lowered so you can reach the floor with your foot flat on the ground or, again, look at a different scooter

  2. You might want to look at other scooters and see if you can put your feet down on them. I have seen several short people ride Agility 50's made by Kymco and also the Genuine brand.

  3. yeah all cars (and such) are built for the middle man 5'10 (ish) so it won't be a perfect fit but im sure your aware of this.

  4. >>  s there a certain height you have to be to ride a scooter

No.  You just have to be able to sit and get your foot down.  Some scooters are taller and others are not.

    Good Luck....

  5. dont know to be honest, might be dangerous though if you  cant reach the floor

  6. Do the CBT *before* you commit to buying a scooter. Make absolutely sure that you are confident in handling a bike as being short will present you with some challenges when the scooter is stopped. You will most likely love it but if you discover that riding isn't for you then all you have lost is the cost of the CBT.

Don't be tempted to do the CBT on your own scooter, use the riding school's machines are most likely battered and bruised from being dropped by inexperienced riders.
