Do you have to be a sky customer to have sky plus?

hi

i have a sky digibox but not a customer of sky, meaning i dont have any of skys channels just channels i bought seprately. I own digibox. in uk.

I got given a sky+ digibox so i was wondering do i have to have a contract with sky to have sky plus or can i just call sky and enable the sky plus service.???

and can someone tell me where i can buy the sky plus wire the one you that connect to the dish so you can watch another channel while recording another??

  1. It is possible to buy a Sky+ box from sources other than Sky, and fit them yourself. This is not recommended by Sky - it means fitting an LNB to your dish (if the LNB doesn't have multiple outputs), then running satellite cabling from dish to box. Sky has to enable Sky+ on your set-top box (not always easy if you didn't get the box from them).

    Also you must understand that Sky Technical Support won't support systems that they didn't install. You can buy satellite cables from Maplins.www.maplin.co.uk
