  1. noooooo u just have to know how to side stroke(swim on your side) the do allow you to way goggles at some places  not all and take some diving lessons

  2. No. You have to been calm, confident and competent at swimming. Being strong helps but stroke is not important. Stamina will be helpful. Diving is not important as most of the time you will go in fieet first for Lifesaving ( they make you practice mostly for saving in real life situations where you wouldn;t dive as you don;t know how deep the water is and cannot see the bottom).

Goggles - no. Not necessary and unlikely you'll be able to use them in any real emergency.

  3. no,b ut for most of the clases you have to be able to swim at least 500 meters without stopping...

  4. As a lifeguard trainer you must be fit. Able to swim at least 50m. swim 20m to a conscious casualty and tow them 20m under 65 seconds, swim 20m and tow an unconscious casualty. U can wear goggles to do the training but not for the final exam.

  5. No but you have to be at least average. Goggles depends on where you are posted. Diving, you can learn. but if you are able to go in head first thats enough usually.  The Lifeguard course will polish your rough edges.

  6. You don't get to dive in from the side as you have to be able to see your casualty at all times.  You do need to surface dive to bring up a casualty (a dummy in the test) usually from a depth of 1.8m.

If you are doing the course for a job goggles are not allowed as you would not be wearing them at your work so you have to show you can manage without them.

You do need to be a strong swimmer as you need to get your casualty to safety asap and towing a casualty is hard work - they can be very heavy!

  7. If you have good energy and strength then you should be able to learn to dive with a few lessons, you are not able to wear goggles because in the time it takes you to put goggles on someone could have been under water for about 10 seconds, enough to drown them.

  8. no, my friend who i just taught swimming for 3 weeks did it and passed no problem
