Question:

Do you have to be at least 18 to get a motorcycle license? ?

See, I was thinking of buying a motorcycle, but I don't turn 18 for another 3 1/2 months. My older brother said he was pretty sure you have to be 18 before you can get your motorcycle license. He also said he though that maybe you could get it before that if you had a "parent or guardian" riding alongside you for so many hours.

So, what's the deal with getting a license before you're 18?

P.S. I live in Kansas, if that means anything. And I'm really in no huge hurry to buy one before I turn 18, I was just curious. Thanks!

  1. According to KS DMV, link included, you can get a license at age 16 with certain conditions.  Please check out the DMV site.

    Good luck!

You need a regular license first - so follow the rules outlined after that

You can actually get one at 15 (DRIVERS LICENSE)

  3. 16 and 9 months here in Aussie =]

Dude... Just google it or something. I have no idea if you have something like the RTA over there =s

  4. buy it anyway, even if you can't drive it yet. in nys, you can get your motrcycly permit at 16 and licence at 17 i think. good luck.

  5. In the state of Arkansas you can get them at the age of 14 but the motor can be no more than 250cc. Or you can wait umtil you turn 16 and get basically whatever you want.
