  2. Yes, i would say so.

    They're trying to attract watchers..

  3. I would think that an attactive woman would tend to drawn people and keep them watching but I've seen some haint boogars broadcasting the weather.

  4. My personal opinion is that you have to be in shape and pretty good looking to work in any capacity in tv for major stations, when you are on television!  I can't remember seeing any unfit, ugly reporters or anchors on tv in recent memory!!

  5. I don't think so.  We  have a female weather person here and I would not consider her beautiful at all  & she dresses really frumpy.  She looks like she's about 22, but dresses like she's 60.

  6. You will definitely have greater success. The station will use everything that it can in order to get people to watch, and they know that an attractive woman helps.

  7. no as long as you have knowledge on metro forecasts eg what a tornado can do etc.

  8. By the time you are done with the makeup and the hair, it's hard to say. But, stations are ratings and profit driven and you can bet that every consultant out there would tell station managers that they should hire attractive talent to increase viewership.

You can bet the quality of the information provided is also hurt by this profit motive. Hurting your sponsor's interests is bad business. The so-called war is good for business and media profits.
