  1. It's not 'required,' as you will stretch and become more flexible.  You definitely need more flexibility for jazz than tap.  Stretch every day and you will become flexible in no time!  Good luck, and  hope I helped!  :)

  2. Well not so much tap as jazz and if you are in a beginner jazz class it usually dosen't matter so much...also most jazz classes start with a stretch :D You don't HAVE to be flexible but it will just make you better and by taking the class you will gain flexibility anyways

  3. flexibility helps a lot, esp. in jazz, but in tap, you don't really need a lot of it.

    Hope I helped!

  4. tap-you dont need to be

jazz-the start of class you will do alot streching for legs stomach arms and feet ansd that will make you more flexible but you dont have to be flexible starting out it will come later on .

  5. Most of the time, yes.

You need flexibility to do the pike jumps, splits of various positions, and stag jumps in jazz dancing.

Flexibility is not really required in tap, but you need stamina in your ankle and foot muscles to do tap dancing without tiring yourself.
