Do you have to be in high school to start going to a university as a freshman?

I graduated high school in 2007. Can I enter a university for a 4-year degree as a freshman in fall 2009 in California or do I have to attend a junior college first (since I'll have been out of school for 2 years after high school)? I ask because someone mentioned me having to attend a junior college first but I don't know if that's true. The university I plan to attend is a Cal State school by the way. Thanks.

  1. As long as you have taken your SAT, you should not have to start at a CC unless you wish.  You can apply directly to the 4-year program.  Many people taken some time off before college, it's not that unusual.
