  1. No.

  2. Nope.

  3. No but I strongly encourage it!

  4. If you are already a Marine (enlisted) and are going for a Enlisted to Commissioning Program, you would use something like MECEP or BOOST.  When your under one of those programs, you are a PART of an NROTC unit.

However, a "true" ROTC person is someone that graduates high school and gets an ROTC scholarship.  At the NROTC, you would declare yourself as a Marine Option.

Talk to an Officer Selection Officer (OSO) in your area.  Make sure you talk to them first because if you talk to the Enlisted Recruiter, they will try to sway you their way.  One of the best ways is to go to www.marines.com and click - become a Marine Officer and then request more information.  You would be contacted by your local OSO if you dont know who they are.

A good school guidance counselor would also know about ROTC scholarships as well.

To give yourself the best chance at a ROTC, you must have solid grades and been involved in school activities such as sports or clubs.
