Do you have to be licenced to be a cage fighter in the UK, if so how do you go about it ???

  1. I can't tell you for sure about the UK, but I'll have to say 'probably.'

    Here in the states, whether you compete in MMA as an amateur or a professional, you need licensing from the governing athletic commission of the state. For instance, I live in Michigan, but I've only fought in Ohio. So I had to get a license in Ohio, and if I wanted to compete in Michigan, I'd need a license here as well.

    So how would you go about getting a license? Well usually you can get your license through your promoter. He can't have you fight without a license so, talk to your promoter and he'll set you up with the appropriate paper work and contacts.

    If not, find out what the governing organization is in your area. Do a quick Google search about athletic commissions in your area and go from there.
