  1. you can be single and adopy, you just need a clean criminal record and can show how you will support the child good luck its a good thing you r doing

  2. Im not sure about adoption but to foster you can be single, married or whatever, u just need a spare room and be able to support the child and the obvious checks have to be clear of course!

  3. Hi there I am single, in my 30s and have adopted in the UK. It took 3 years, and being single wasn't a hinderance. Go for it!

  4. i dunno never tried to adopt before lol

  5. No. you don't HAVE TO be married, but because there are many, many more people who want to adopt, than there are babies/children available for adoption, agencies can be, and quite rightly so, be very selective who they choose as adoptive parents/parent.

In my opinion only, but I think most people would agree, you are more likely to be able to adopt if you are:-

    1. A happily married couple.

    2. Heterosexual.

    3. Non smokers.

    4. Moderate or non-drinkers.

    5. Have no criminal record.

    6. Belong to a recognised religion.

    7. Not be obese.

    8. Have a reasonable standard of living.

    9. Come from a stable family background.

    10. Live in a decent neighbourhood.

  6. no you can be single

as long as you can prove you can be a great parent you can adopt

    GOOD LUCK!!

  7. It helps to be married but single people, people living with their partners or civil partners can all adopt.

The thinks that social services will look for are:

Are you financially secure?  Do you have a steady income?  Do you own your own home (this helps but you can adopt if you rent)?  Do you have enough room for a child?  Do you already have children and if so how old are they (if you already have children they tend to want the adoptee to be younger as keeping it in birth order makes it easier on the kids)?  Will you have enough time to raise a child (it helps if one parent doesn't work or works part-time)?  What support network will you have around you (extended family, close friends)?  What parenting style do you plan to use?  How will you make your home safe for children?

  8. Yes you can adopt if your single but you must:

-Not have a criminal record of ANY kind

-Have a spare room for the child you adopt

    -Have a CBR check

-Prove that you will be able to care for the child financially and emotionally.

It may take awhile for you to adopt as most couples would perfer their child go to a happily married couple. However everyone can adopt as long as they meet those 4 requirments I listed. I know a g*y couple that adopted, my husband's mom knows a L*****n couple that adopted and my sister, she's single too, adopted. And of course straight couples can adopt too.

    Good luck and god bless!

  9. You can be single, male or female, g*y or straight, employed or un-employed.

But you must meet certain requirements:

You must have a spare room

    a CRB check.

The ability to care for a child, because a child is for life!

  10. No, you do not need to be married to adopt a child all you need is a clean record and evidence that you will be able to manage the child.

    Good luck

  11. You don't have to be married.....and the requirements are the ability to give a child a secure and loving home.

It's one of the best things you can do but it takes alot to get there. Questions, inspections, reports. The guidelines are getting tighter and tighter and you'll be asked all sorts of questions as will your family. But just remember that it's nothing personal they are just trying to make sure that everything checks out before they place a child with you.....they should sometimes ask these questions of some natural parents before they are allowed to bring up their kids!!
