Do you have to be outgoing to be a actress?

Question

I wanna become an actress, but the problem is, is that I am really shy.

But I think that if I try out for an audition, I will do fine.

So do you have to be outgoing to be an actor/actress?

I really wanna become one and I think that once I need to act crazy or whatever I'll do fine.

no you don't. there are shy actors. sometimes they are the best ones cuz they play characters not like themselves and it can bring emotions or actions out in the shy person that they may not be comfortable with showing when they are themselves.

I'm an actress, in fact I am in my schools Adv. Theatre class, and I am one of the shyest people you will ever meet. I am so shy it should count as a physical handicap. It's insane. For a long time I spent all my time on the sidelines wishing that I could be outgoing, but as soon as I accepted myself for the horribly shy person that I am, I got the lead in our play. Use your shyness to your advantage. Directors like someone who is respectful and quite. Just be who you are. don't let your shyness hold you back

well kind of because the people in the film industry want people to laugh and smile about there persoanality i am a boy and wanted to be a actor since i was 6 but,i am not shy and if i moved from a town to another town i would act like if i lived in that town 4ever

Well, yeah kind of, you can perform really good but if you dont have a cool bubbly personality especially being a teenager people in the biz just pass you up for the next super bubby girl you know i mean you dont have to change yourself thats crazy, always be yourself you know but just fake it in front of casting directors n stuff because most child actors are really bubbly thats how they catch peoples attention and get casted!

Of course not. I'm a very quiet person, but I love performing. There are lots of actors/actresses who are shy in real life. When you're acting, you're playing a character, not yourself, and that makes most people much more comfortable.

No not at all. One actress who comes to mind who is admittedly shy is Kristin Kreuk. And Idina Menzel hates signing autographs and going to a stagedoor because she is on the shyer side.
