  1. You don't have to be super smart to get into university but you do have be a diligent worker and have gotten fairly good grades in High school.  If you think you won't be able to get in but you want to go you might want to consider going to a community college for 2 years first and then applying to a university

  2. Intelligence is not necessary but a capacity for working hard and learning is. Exams are  given at the end of each year and failure is an automatic passport home. If you are not sure about University then try for a trade or a job with a bank. You will start earning and learning on the job and you could progress very well over your first 5 years.

  3. No, but it helps.  To get into university you need good "A" level grades.  Anyone of average intelligence can get those, but the thicker you are, the harder you have to work at it.  If you're super intelligent, you'll probably get the grades with little effort.

  4. It depends on which university you want to attend. If you want to go to an Ivy League then you're going to need really good SAT/ACT scores and a high GPA  among other things. If it's a good college then your grades have to be pretty good. You don't necessarily need to be intelligent, you need great grades(knowing an answer to a question doesn't make you smart, knowing why it's the answer does). I think you'd have to be intelligent to get into MIT. Also if you're really wealthy or if you're a legacy I guess you don't need to be very smart.

  5. Not really.  Depends what you are going for.  If you can pay they'll take you in most instances.  Schools are a business, they dont care much who the money comes from.  If its something in the fields of science, computers, math, etc.  there may be an entrance exam, but the one I took was the equivalent of the SAT.

  6. you need to have a good gpa (3.5 or better)  they also look at your activities in school  ie: sports, clubs etc.  They look for well rounded students

  7. you have to gain enough points through qualifications to get in...that doesnt say how intelligent you have to be..there are stupid people that do well in exam conditions...and very clever people that come apart under testing

  8. No - not at all.

When i went to uni, most people there were pretty dim. No sense at all.

Just pick a subject you like and are interested in and do that.

  9. Not at all, similarly having a degree doesn't mean your intelligent, it more or less means you can pass exams. Generally almost anyone could get into at least 1 university.

At school age it's pretty much about A levels and having points, as a mature student that's not as important, and they're more interested as to whether you'd settle back in to studying.

going to university, and having a degree generally shows you can learn things (sometimes only temporarily) and can pass an exam. But it can be fun =D

  10. depends where you want to go, some places will require you to have 3 A grade Alevels but some places you only need like three Ds. Also depends what course you want to do, but in really ther's a whole mix of people and abilities. Its not full of smarty-pants and brain-boxes like you'd think. Just normal people :]

  11. Smart enough to get decent a levels but being a bit worldly wise won't harm either!  Being a hard-worker is the most important.

  12. I assume that a normal intelligence should be sufficient, after all, you are going there to educated, if you were super smart you wouldn't need to go.

  13. You don't have to be really intelligent.  Average people do very well in universities.

But it does help if you're willing to work hard - to study, to do the homework, to get out and work your butt off on the projects, etc.  These are the people who are more likely to benefit from a good education, and to go on to be successful in later life.

  14. I don't think you have to be super intelligent,

i just think you need to have the will to do

well in your studies, and the smarts to

accomplish that. You don't really need smarts,

really only lots of studying and critical thinking.

The only thing I feel you need to be smart in

is Math, now that takes some thinking skills!!!

  15. You dont have to be super smart at all.  i go to uni and im really not that smart at all.  You just need to be able to get a few decent passes at A-Level and you're sorted

  16. Not really, believe me, I mean you have to know a thing or two, and have a rational functioning mind, but it's not THAT difficult.

  17. Not if the cabinet and government are anything to go by as most of them are ex graduates. Savvy is much better.

  18. From what I have seen no. Even if some Universities have criteria you must meet, I have seen many foreign students get in and I wonder if they have completed high school.
