  1. Strength isnt a big deal in High School. College scouts look for your production

  2. Speed... not strength get fast and the rest will fall into place.

  3. Strength is important but it is only one aspect of any position.  At DE you need speed, agility and strength.  But most important , you must possess a mastery of the fundamentals.

You stance, your foot work, your hands and arms.  The ability to pay attention, know your assignment, the ability to recognize the play.

I can put a bull, 2 elephants and a rhino on the D-line and they will loose every play.

Solidfundamentalss will beat a stronger, faster, bigger man every single time.

  4. strength helps in the middle.Speed, agility and technique are more important. If you can master the swim, rip, and bull rush you can beat your oponent.Learning how to be your opponent off the ball and antisapate the snap will do wonders. If you can hit your opponent first you will win.
