I have an hourglass figure. Kinda =/

But, I'm not super skinny, and my stomach isn't exactly very flat.

Does that matter?

I'm going to start doing ALOT of sit-ups.

Will it help??

Thanks =]

  1. you have to be curvy to have an hour glass figure

  2. No, I have a total hour-glass figure and I'm 5'7" and 150lbs

    I have measurements of 39-27-40.

    Sit-ups don't help very much and it  doesn't matter, hourglass just means you have big b***s, big butt but a small waist

  3. Well, I have an hourglass figure as well. Sit-ups will tone your stomach but I can't guarantee that it will make it flatter. It will most likely add muscle under any fat that is on your stomach.

  4. No. An hourglass figure means that your body is proportional and body fat/muscle is well distributed. Bust and hip measurements must be very similar and the waist must be at least 9" smaller than the bust.

    This can apply to all body types - even extremely overweight figures without flat stomachs. However, please take this into consideration before doing all of those sit-ups: Research has found that only 8 percent of women now have the sort of hourglass figure desired by most females.

    However, if you still want to slim down, crunches are better than sit ups. Sit ups can harm your back and in the time of one sit up, you can complete 2-3 crunches. Also, you've probably seen the cheesy "I love my abdominals" infomercial for this exercise ball, but it actually does work. Its pretty cheap, too, and supplies more support and comfort to your back.

    If you really don't want to do the crunches or buy the bender ball, there are ways you can create an hourglass figure:

    Good luck - don't strain yourself too much!

  5. if your hip and breast measurement is about the same, and your waist is measure is much smaller than your hips and breast than your an hourglass, it doesnt matter if your fat or skinny
