  1. No, I have seen black people with freckles before.

  2. freckles arent even atractive , why would you want some?

  3. Um, whoever said that is wrong. It has to do with varying amounts of pigment in your skin, sun exposure and genetics. White, Asians, Latinos, and Blacks all can and do have freckles. You do not need to have any Caucasian ancestry.

  4. Everybody has freckles. They are beneath the surface of our skin. The lighter you are, the more they show. They think that it is caused mostly by the sun, but they do increase with age.

  5. Now for the "scientific" answer:  Freckles are small tan spots of melanin that most often show up on the skin of people with "fair" complexions.  Although those with fair skin and red hair have an inherited predisposition to freckle, African Americans of all skin tones can certainly freckle, even if those African Americans with lighter skin tones are more likely to do so, according to Michelle Burton's on line article, "African American Skin Care".  Often moles in both European and African Americans started out as childhood freckles.

  6. The tendency to get freckles is related to a gene, not a skin tone, so anyone can get freckles if they have the genetic tendency for them.  True that freckles are more common among White people, but they are almost as common among Asian people!  I've seen freckles on every race of people, and most of them were not mixed.

  7. Morgan Freeman is a beautiful black man and he has freckles.

Edit:  Oops!  Looks like Chris and I were answering at the same time.  I used to have freckles when I was younger, but most of them have faded away.  I've always tanned pretty dark so they'd tend to disappear in the summertime.

  8. I wouldn't think so. Although they are more common in people with fair complexions, and most common in redheads, freckles are clusters of concentrated melanin. Apparently one has a genetic predisposition to freckle, and they are triggered by exposure to sunlight. Quite a number of Asians have freckles (and I love Morgan Freeman's freckles!). Having longed for freckles when I was young (like my red-haired best friend, who was covered with them), I've now been blessed with freckles on my hands, though I avoid sun exposure.  And even though my freckled friends sneer at what they describe as "liver spots" (eeww!), they are entitled to be called freckles too.

  9. I'm pure white, red headed myself as well, and very fair skinned... and yes. I freckle rather than tan.

As for other races having freckles I am not sure. But I would say that Morgan Freeman has freckles... is he pure black or partially?

  10. no!!
