  1. I have done the cruise to Ephesus from Greece and they offer options . A bus will take you from the port and bring you there.

It is 30 min.ride with the bus and i suggest you take it and go ,because it's something to see they have a guide and  you will love it.

  2. you don't have to, but if its your first time going and if you are going in summer, than i would definitely urge you to do so. Summer is VERY busy with tourists.

  3. if I were you I'd go with your reps. they will sort everything out for you, a lot easier than going alone. I take it you are docking at Kusadasi? There are shops near the port that operate tours if you don't want to go with your reps.

  4. If you are on a cruise and the ship is anywhere near I'm sure they will offer/provide a tour of Ephesus.

There might be an additional charge depending on the type of cruise you are on. Even if so, I would recommend that you take it, Ephesus is one of the best ancient sites (including those in Greece).

Don't take an independent tour unless you can be sure your ship will still be there when you return.
