Do you have to break in running shoes?

i bought some new running shoes and i ran with them for 2 miles and half.

it hurt my ankles afterwards.

how long do i have to wait till i break them in?

  1. I never experienced a "break in period" with running shoes,  if I try them on....see they fit my type of foot........I can wear any of them the next day for a run and have no problems.  My feet are tough though from yrs. of basketball, I have calluses in the right places.  If within another run or two it doesn't get better I'd take them back and find some that feel better.


  2. if you wear the shoes every day it will generally take about 1-1 1/2 weeks. I would say if you ankles keep hurting after 2 weeks than you should look into getting a new pair of shoes because this pair of shoes probable aren't working for you. Good luck with the shoes
