  1. Yes you do.  Your ferret will need rabies shots, de-worming, check for luekemia etc...

  2. Yes, it will hurt the ferret if you do not. I take my ferrets to the vet twice a year, because they get so sick so often and easily. It is necessary to make sure they don't have cancer, or other problems. It's either your money or ultimately, your ferrets death.

  3. Yes you should take them, just like any other pet. Ferrets need their vaccines, some neutered or spayed, if they get any illnesses, swallowing foreign objects which they love to do, ect.

I take mine a lot. Mostly because I am a paranoid ferret mommy and take mine whenever something doesn't seem right.

It's really not too expensive if you find a good, kind and willing vet like mine. My vet will give me many samples of medications, instead of me having to purchase them, she will also cut me deals (beings I have more than one) and treat them all for the price of one. Shop around for a vet or ask friends/family who may have animals that take theirs to the vet.

If something does arise though, not taking them to the vet will hurt them more in the long run, and could be more expensive or mean death.

For me a general checkup would run around $35.

  4. Yes, all animals (except wild ones unless you catch it) need to be taken to the vet. check-up, injury or illness all animals need to be taken to the vet!

  5. ferrets do need yearly checkup and if you want too walk them they will have to have a canine distemper shot and also a rabies shot.. and you would have to get them neutered if they havent been already.

it can be quite expensive but it'd be even more expensive if you didnt have it done and the ferret got ill.
