State side if under 2 yrs the infant can travel on your lap. I don't think that is true for international flights???? I think you have to buy a ticket for the baby. Do the rules vary by the airline? Regardless I don't think I want to fly all the way to Europe with my baby on my lap. What about strollers and car seats? Can you bring them? Should we rent a car seat? Advice, experiences, please.

  1. You can bring a car seat for them to sit in and they check the stroller at the plane...they put them somewhere. If you fly internationally, get the child a seat, for everyones' sanity. As far as what the airline requires, it is anyone's guess these days. Ask the airlines what their policy is or look on their website, that is the best idea.

  2. Lap babies need tickets, too. We paid 10% of adult fare.

Oh, and if you don't want the baby on your lap, as seat will cost more. You may want to look into a bassinet.

  3. yes and at a much lower price (from just tax to half the price). you can bring strollers though it have to be placed somewhere near the plane's entrance/exit point.
