  1. Only if you want to stop smoothly.

  2. yea, pull in and upshift or downshift

takes the load off the motor

  3. You will not hurt your tranny by not using the clutch. Some people call it speed shifting. I have a 92 kx 250 that i have been shifting that way for 16 years.

  4. In the low gears you pretty much have to or you'll kill the engine. In the higher ones you can shift without it but it's rough.

  5. yes

  6. You dont have to clutch, but by not using the clutch you are hurting your engine

  7. if you have good throttle control you can shift up and down on dirtbikes and street bikes without ever using the clutch, except when starting from a stop and going back to a stop.  to upshift, you need to be accellerating, preload the shifter with a little pressure, and momentarily release the throttle and then flick it back open,   the bike should ease right into the next gear with no effort.  to downshift, you need to be decellerating, preload the shifter with a little pressure, and slightly and quickly roll a little on the throttle, it should drop right into the lower gear.

generally it is easier on dirt since the rear wheel has less traction and can slip easier.

when you practice enough and get it down good, it is much smoother than you can ever do when using the clutch.

  8. you will be able to shift if you try hard enough but if you don't use the clutch ,you'll ruin it soon after

  9. I do not but it takes practice. And what is wean and sift what are those words.

  10. I raced motocross for years and never used the clutch except to start moving.I never had any problems from not using the clutch. But i rode a Bultaco which pretty much had a bulletproof tranny.

  11. If you want your tranny to last, you'd better.
