Do you have to connect the antenna to the Dtv converter?

cause i dont have one buton the instruction manual says to do it but if i do have to where do i get one?

  1. Keep the rabbit ears housed on the TV, but electrically the antenna gets plugged into the converter box.  The in jack is for the antenna, and the out jack is for the TV.

    If you are having problems getting DTV stations, check out http://www.antennaweb.org and see if your stations offer DTV right now.

    Remember to also set your TV to channel 3 or 4.  It is just like in the VCR days when you watched a movie on VHS.


  2. Yes, you need a good quality VHF/UHF TV antenna.

    A DTV converter's purpose in life is to convert Over The Air digital signals into analog for old style analog sets.  An antenna is the way to get the Over The Air signal into the converter box.  The converter boxes will not work with cable.
