Read this article, and let me know if it offends you.

I personally am offended that one: it has taken this long for a ruling to be put in place, and this doesn't even include a DECISION, let alone an actual change, on how to change the money to be more blind-user friendly and two: that the NFB opposes the lawsuit. To me that's another reason (on top of the non-collapseable cane) that I don't like about the NFB.

Anyone blind, or not blind, or partially blind care to share their opinion on the matter of American currency and the blind?

  1. The NFB is an organization that has opposed many things designed to help people who are blind or who have low vision live more independently, but more dependent on assistant technology.  They seem to value independence based on innate abilities to the exclusion of supporting people who may have more difficulty than others.

The issue of American money has been brought up for many years. This is the farthest it has come to an actual change and it is very welcome. Now for the hard work - what will new American money feel like.

  2. I am absolutely flabbergasted that the NFB opposes the ACB's lawsuit! You would think that the NFB would try to make life easier instead of trying to make life harder for people with blindness.
