  1. in united states, you have to compete in an olympic trial

  2. Just turn up on the day. Apparently you just wait in a queue ( it's quite long ) and it's first come first served so you do have to get up early, and if you don't get in to say the 100m final, just join the queue for the cycling ( don't forget to bring your bike ). I was just listening to an interview with Chris Hoy and that's what he did, and he said if he hadn't got into that he would have joined the queue for the women's gymnastics.

Why don't you give it a go in 2012. Good luck.

  3. no you have to go to the try outs

  4. would actually be better to compete in competitions to see if your as good as you think you are

  5. For most countries you have to go to the national trials and win those in order to make the team.

  6. Where do people get the idea that you just sign up? It takes years of practice, and even then you may not qualify.

  7. Just sign up.
