Do you have to dress business casual or professional for jury duty?

I don't know what to wear on my first jury duty!

I recommend that you dress smart but as has already been said comfortable.

Just wear something comfortable, but nice. You are going to be sitting there for a long time. Comfort is important!

something comfortable for you in public. I find sweats very comfortable but not in public.

How you dress is going to be how the 'first impression' of you is formed.  If you dress casual - then people are less likely to take you seriously.  

You can dress any way you like but remember that you may need to have people take your opinions seriously.  Dress in a manner that presents you as a serious, prudent and responsible person.

Dress at the minimum as Business casual.  Some courts demand more, check to make sure.
