  1. You need a permit in order to practice.  If you think you can pass the driving test without practice, then you don't need a permit, just go in and take the test.  But if you want to practice first, get a permit.

Edit:  I was joking.  Yes, you need a permit.

  2. Yes you need a permit. In Pa we get three tries to get our license before we have to renew our permit. Good luck with your written test and the drivers test. Make sure you learn how to parallel park. That's what screwed me up. I think they took pity on me and passed me. To this day I still don't go anywhere where I have to parallel park. I make someone else drive me. No sense in dinging up my car.

  3. Yes you do. You will have to carry with you at all times after you have successfully passed the written and driving tests. Your permit is a temporary thing until your plastic drivers license (original one) comes in the mail.

  4. Yes!

  5. Although i am about the same age as you and 3,000 miles east of you. I really don't. I know. In some areas  Fla you do. I would suggest taht you go to/call  the local (DMV), or Depeart of Motor Vehicles and ask them about that they would be able to tell fom there.

  6. It all depends on the law of your state. Here in Michigan, you can just take the test if you're over 19 (but I think they upped it to 21).

I would just contact your Secretary of State, Dept. of Motor Vehicles, or Dept. of Transportation for a definative answer.
