  1. No. If you go to a Community College, you can earn your Associates Degree. You can still transfer into University without one. It helps tho, b/c you can get a majority of your credits completed.

But no, you don't need your associates to earn your bachelor degree.

  2. No. If you attend a four-year school then what will happen is that you will earn your AA/BA all at one time since you will need to complete the general studies requirements before you can commence your major requirements. The general studies is your associates. If you go to a community college, you will just complete your general studies requirements and then transfer those courses to a four-year school and then complete your major requirements for a bachelors.

Community colleges, public institutions and even some private schools offer certificate programs (1-2years) and a 2 years (normally) AA/AS degrees known as an associates. With an associates you can later go on to complete another 2 years of schooling to earn a Bachelors. In order to be accepted into a Graduate program however, you will need a Bachelors.

  4. no, you dont have to.. it's your coice whether you want to pursue a 4 yr(bachelor) course or 2 yr course(associate) in college.
