Do you have to get consent from an artist or musician to use a song in a video you want to put on youtube.?

I want to put a slideshow type video on youtube and It has to have music, but I dont want to ilegally use a song. The videos not that important so if using the song means I have to get my account deleted or pay a fine than Its really not that worth it. I still wanna know though.

No but when you are uploading, under description say the name of the song and it's artist.
