Question:

Do you have to give a stool sample when you're pregnant?

A friend of mine told me she had to have a stool sample while she was pregnant. I just found out I am pregnant about a week ago, and am wondering if this is a normal test that most doctors perform, or is it only done if given a reason (ie. loose stools, etc.). For you moms out there, did you have to have one?

  6. They do a ton of tests to make sure the baby and you are doing fine, but not that kind! You do have to give a urine sample each appointment though to make sure everything is ok so they are on top of things. I have 3 kids and never had a test like that before, I think your friend might have either had blood in her stools and they looked at it or she is BSing you!

  7. No, Ive never had to have one...my sister is with me and I asked her (she has 4 kids) and she has never had one either. I agree with the first answer that it is not a routine test and you should not have one unless there is a specific problem...congrats on your pregnancy!
