  1. ugh is all I can say.

  2. I think you have 30 days...

  3. No you don't

  4. As for name do you mean last name? I think you can give your baby your last name and when the test comes back if it turns out that he is the dad then I think you can change the last name... My mother in law did this with her daughter but that was about 30 years ago... I would call the hosptial and talk to them about your concerns

  5. yes so they can do the birth certificate.

  6. I know in Oregon and CALIFORNIA you have to fill out the birth Certificate information before you leave the hospital!

  7. I dont' think so.  But you might call your hospital just to make you.  Different hospitals have different polices.

  8. He doesn't have to have a name, but you cannot file for a SSN until your baby is named. This can sometimes cause issues with insurance and things of that nature. It might be easier to give the baby your name and then change it later if need be. You can also get paternity tests done while still pregnant.

  9. When I had my son I had to have a name before I left.  It might be different though for different states and doing the whole paternity test thing.

  10. In my hospital paperwork that i had to fill out and mail in ahead of time it says that you have 6 months to change the babys name. But you have 30 day to have a name to begin with. Like the others are saying though it all depends on your hospital rules and regulations.
