  1. No you do not have to attend a college to get an A&P certificate. You have to have a specified amount of hours classroom time or a specific amount of time of actual experience....working under the direction of an A&P mechanic or military experience. You can get the classroom training at a Technical Institute or an Aviation School. And no a college degree will not get you hired faster or a better job unless you are looking to get into manangement roles.

  2. In the U.S., you do NOT need a college degree to be an A&P mechanic. There are private and public technical schools which will teach you what you need to know to get your certificate, or you can get 'on-the-job' documented training by working under the supervision of certificated mechanics.

If you want to eventually get into supervision or management, however, college is highly recommended.

  3. You have to go to a school approved by the FAA for A&P training. Go to the FAA website and they will give you a list of approved schools in your area. College degree not required.

  4. Hi...it's me again.  Now for this question...no, you do not have to go to college to become an A & P mechanic, but you would most likely benefit from having a college degree along with the A&P certification because it would probably get you a job faster, a better job with a better facility or airline, and you would probably start out making more money if you have a college degree. The link below is an excellent school that offers degrees along with all of their aviation courses and they also offer career assistance (the second link).

  5. yup i am in a college doin that course!!
