  1. You need to qualify. Are you with a club?

  2. No.  Shauna Johnson just wond the gold medal for the balance beam  she's 16.

  3. First of all, Shawn Johnson is a gymnast, not a swimmer. They typically do start competing in their sport on national and international levels at an earlier age.

No you don't have to go to college. The benefit of college is that your training, your coach, and your practice pool time is all covered by your tuition. If you don't attend a university or attend one with a swim team, you'll have to pay for your own coach, pay fees to join a swim club, and pay for pool practice time.

Just finding a pool to train in would be very difficult. Most community/public pools are too small or shallow for competitive swimming. You'd also have trouble finding one that would allow you to use the starting blocks for practice. Fitness clubs don't have them.

I could go on, but your best bet is join a swim club for now and head to college.

  4. Shawn (sian) Johnson it was.. she won it in olympics.

And you dont have to go to college, just need to have to qualify with the times..
