No specific education required for this position, you just need to be a very responsible and caring person who has a good knowledge of the type of animals you want to tend.  Some charge by the visit, some charge by the day.  Rates would be comparable with local boarding kennels, plus you may need to add on if you have to drive some distance.  My son (12) charges about $10/dog/day if it is in the neighborhood.
