  3. Yes.  And what you want to teach will determine the number of years you'd have to go.

  4. Yes and you also have to have good grades. Currently in my state you need a 3.4 average. It will continue to rise to a 3.7 in a few years.  Teaching is not an easy profession.  You also have to go to school and take classes once you become a teacher.

  6. in most states you have to:

    - recieve a bachelor's degree (that includes student teaching, otherwise you won't have enough field hours to apply for a license)

    - pass whatever standardized testing for your area that your state requires

    - apply for a provisional license

    - in some states, once you find a job, you must complete an entry year program provided by your district

    - some states then require another round of testing from the state to then recieve your permanent license

    - some states then have a timeline in which to complete or begin work on your masters

    requirements for a license and/or job varies from state to state. i would speak with someone in your education dept at your college and do some research through your state dept of education. that should provide the answers that your looking for.

  9. No. There are some elderly Sunday School teachers who never went to school. There are toddlers who teach other people things like new songs and nursery rhymes who never been to school before.

  11. yes. you need to get a BA or BS in what every subject you want to teach and go to a credential program.  Usually it takes 5-6 years in order to become a teacher.
