If I have to get a dresser then so be it but if you have any other ideas please share! He has a big heavy red wood changing table/dresser set we're selling due to him being to wiggly and dangerous so now I get to go shopping again :)

  1. ruby has a`pretty sweet set -- all black. the crib and dresser/changing table match and aren't bulky. the dresser part has only 3 drawers, and between that and her closet i have tons of room. i can't think of anything specific to recommend, but i can tell you that it doesn't seem that you need a lot of storage space for clother -- they're so small!

  2. well idk what else you would put his clothes in other than a shelf or something.. but i would get a dresser.. your just going to have to buy one for him when he gets older.. or put everything in the closet i guess

  3. Space is a little limited in our baby's nursery since whoever built this place wasted two walls with a sliding glass door on one side and a very wide closet on the wall with the door. So instead of buying a huge dresser, we used the other two shelves of the baby's changing table to put canvas bins on. There's a spot on the second shelf for the wipes/diapers/creams/etc, and the rest of the space and the whole other shelf has five Koala baby canvas bins on them that each hold something - Sleep'n'Plays in one, onsies in another, so on and so forth. It's been pretty nifty so far - and very easy to grab something quickly. Looks nice, as well, so all in all it's worked out great for us.

Btw, that same company makes hanging storage, too, which I think are originally for closets, but we just hang it on the side of the changing table for the rest of his stuff like brush, extra diapers, clippers, etc.

  4. I'm a little late answering, but in Landon's room we have a dresser and a plastic thing that is stackable and has pullout drawers. The dresser originally went with my bedroom set, but I didn't have enough room for it and a big dresser with a mirror, so I bought a crib for the baby that matched my bedroom set so the dresser matches perfectly in his room. I would try to get something that is going to last a while so you don't have to go out and buy something new in a couple more years. The dresser will last him forever.

  5. For my girl I bought a small 4 drawer dresser, nice not bulky. I then bought some decals that were for the wall and decorated it with them- most people think her dresser is painted with these beautiful flowers, I really like it. I hang a lot of her stuff in the closet also. If you found a small plain dresser this is an idea to make it nicer- just find some boy orientated decals. Also walmart does sell storage plastic dressers-there is a nicer one in store but couldn't find it.

  6. You could get a shelving system. Aside from that I don't know! We use his closet, a hanging shelving system in the closet, and two dressers.

  7. I hang a lot of my twins clothing, and I also have a couple of drawers that attach to the ends of their cribs, complete with shelves and changing tables.

I'm paranoid about heavy dressers in their rooms.  Kids have died trying to climb them and the dresser toppling on them.  My nephew had the dresser fall over on him but his crib broke some of the fall and he ended up just getting cut from the glass on the mirror shattering.

It was horrible!  Dressers should be tethered to the wall.

  8. I dont use a dresser in my sons room. I use hanging closet organizers. They are pretty cheap, I think I paid $10 each and I have 4. They come in all kinds of different colors and the ones I got even have drawers in the bottom of them. I use the drawers for hats and socks and stuff like that. Its really nice to just open up his closet and I can see all his clothes. In our old house I used a dresser in his room and it sucked. I hated going through all his drawers trying to find the outift I wanted for him... this way is much better for me!

our change table has a drawer and cubbords but i use that for diapers and all the supplies that go along with that and i use the top for his lamp and monitor and some pictures of family. (he tried to roll off the change table too many times so we change him in his crib now)

  9. I actually don't use the dresser we got originally - I use a bookcase I bought for my own books (strangely enough) but never used.  Because her changing mat is right beside it and I can see all her clothes, baby sleep suits, wash cloths etc.  So it makes it easier and it's obvisouly a lot narrower than a set of drawers so it fits well in the room - also I have all her little oils, creams etc on top because the top shelf has a rim around the end so it's secure and nothing falls off.  I even screwed in hooks on the side to hang her hoodie-towels for baths.  It makes life so much simpler when you don't have to rummage through drawers while a baby is kicking around on a changing mat and you can't turn away!

  10. My daughter has a beautiful armoire it is hand carved... I love it is has 3 drawers for her clothes and a hanging part, I hang all her shirts and dresses and and there are 3 small drawers I use for onsies socks and stuff, and then the 3 bigger ones for pjs and pants, and I got pink baskets I put on the top of it for hats and other random things. I like it so much more than a dresser.Good luck... oh and it's always good to be able to go shopping again. I just had my baby girl 5 months ago and I am four months pregnant so I too get to go shopping again and I love it!

  11. i have a really little dresser.. 4 drawers.. about a third the size of a normal dresser.. got it for 40 bucks from value city furniture.. fits all his clothes from 0-3 months.. and i hang up his nice clothes

  12. Well I do have a dresser/changing table combo for right now, but I also have a really pretty wooden trunk that matches his room. I put all the things he can wear now either hung up in the closet or in the dresser but the things he wont fit into or cant wear for a while I already have folded up neatly in the trunk. :)

They do make like plastic drawer systems that can just fit in a closet or something, they have them at wal-mart and also I have seen them at target, really any kind of dept store like those would probably have them in there storage section, they are usually pretty cheap 2 :)
