  1. this question gets asked a bunch.

If you are a US citizen and are traveling to the US Virgin Islands ( ST Thomas, St John St Croix you do not need a passport. This is the US Virgin Islands and it's just like going from New York to Key West. That requirement will never change as the US VI's are the UNITED STATES VI's.....

If you are going to the British Virgin Islands.Tortola, Jost Van d**e, Virgin Gorda you MUST have a passport

Some AIRLINES ask for a passport so check with them!!!!

  2. You just need your birth certificate and goverment ID to return home, however I would rethink coming to the Virgin Islands. The territory is one of the most violent places under the American flag.

The Virgin Islands homicide rate per capita is 42 homicides for every 100,000. The national rate is 5.5 slayings per 100,000.

There are 100,000 people in the Virgin islands, and were allready into the double digits for Murder.

  3. No. If it is The U.S. Virgin Islands.

Those consist of St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix.

All others are not US owned.

Anything that is owned by the US no passport  AT THIS TIME, but will be changing later on. As of now, no.

  4. To travel to the USVirgin Islands a valid photo ID is needed. (license) If you are planning on going to the British Virgin Islands you will need a passport to fly there.

    here is a helpful website.
