some people barely notice that they are actually participating in illegal pet trade.reptiles are exotic pets meaning you can't keep them unless you have a petmit.you may get one either directly from the pet store(but some rarely give out permits)  or from an animal agency.you may also get one from some animals shelters.

No way!  I know a ton of guys at my work who have lizards and snakes, and they didn't have to get a permit to keep them.  But make sure you don't get a snake that is going to be totally huge, or you might have trouble finding things to feed him.
