Ok well i'm very good at track, i'm 16 going to grade 11 on monday and I can run the 400m in 49 seconds, however! I live in toronto and my parents want me to stay in Canada but I don't like Canada, so I was thinking about going to University in the states, so I was just wondering if I don't get a scholar ship for track if I could still go to a American University and join the track team? Or Would it be all filled up by people who have scholarships and a secure place on the team.? Oh and how would I go about getting a track scholarship

  1. It is very possible for you to walk onto a university track team.

The NCAA limits scholarships so most schools are short of a complete team.

To get a school interested in you,  you will need to let them know about your ability and interest in attending.

You coach should have contacts with several schools and can notify them of your ability.

You can also gain a scholarship after  you perform well as a walk on.
