Do you have to have a security guard license to work as a security guard in the state of Texas??

I know here in oklahoma we have to have a C.L.E.E.T license but I have been told in Texas you only need one if you own a security company, but to apply for a security guard job you dont need one. Is this true? And if not how do you get the license and what is it called? Lastly what would be the qualifications to attain one? Thanks alot!!
