Do you have to have a sredit card to buy plane tickets?

i plan on going to oregon next month but i don't have a credit card.. i notice that to get a cheap flight on hotwire you have to have a credit card.. are there any other places that i can try to get a cheaper flight without a credit card.

most travel agencies will accept cash or possibly even check. Just call up a local one and make an appointment to buy a cash ticket.

TRY TO ASK A FRIEND IF YOU GIVE THEM THE MONEY WILL THEY PAY FOR THE TICKET. IF NOT GOT TO WAL MART AND GET ONE OF THOSE PRE PAID CREDIT CARDS. THE BEST THING ABOUT IT IS NO OVER DRAFT CHARGES. LOL

yes for all online airfare purchases you need a credit card. so if you are close to the airport i would go and buy one for cash there but you need to do it before the day of the flight you want so you can be sure you will get a seat on that flight. or yo could ask a friend or family member to put it on their card and you hand them the cash.

Many websites accept debit cards in addition to credit cards. If you have a debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo, then you can generally use it on a website just like a credit card. The main differences are that a). a debit card results in your account being debited immediately and b). you don't have protection if the airline goes bankrupt like you do with a credit card.

If you don't have either one, then your options are fairly limited. You can pay by cash or check at a travel agent or by going to the airport. You will have to pay a service fee if you use a travel agent or buy at the airport. Or you can take the advice in a previous answer and get yourself a prepaid card.
