  1. Depending on the State requirements, yes.  In New York State you need certification/licensing to teach in any school.


  2. Yes, almost mandatorily in India and it must be the same in the USA. Indian private schools ask for NTT (Nursery Teacher's Training) certificate for teaching in nursery and kindergarten classes, B.Ed (Bachelor of Education degree offered by Universities) or TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) certificate for primary to middle school levels and PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) certificate for higher classes.

  5. Private schools can set their own rules with who they hire as teachers.  You do not have to be certified, but check with the school you are applying to and find out what their requirements are.
