Do you have to have an amp kit to match the watts?

ok i have a four gauge amp kit and im gettin a 1600 watt hifonics amp should i upgrade to two gauge and if i dont get a new kit will the sound not be clear

  1. i would also recommend a cap,

    i purchased the 1608d from sonicelectronix and its powerhungry, then i got a cap and it helped out.

    and yes stick with the 4 gauge its pefect


  2. I use 4 gauge wire, its good enough for 2 amps and a cap, amps totally about 3,000 its cheeper then 2 gauge and does the job.  

  3. If you're looking at the BXi 1608D, 4 gauge is fine.  Hopefully, you selected a good 4 gauge amp kit.


  4. 4 gauge is perfect dont worry by the way im looking into a hifonics amp brand is this your first or do you already own one
