Definately not required for a UK citizen

and I would very much doubt if required from anywhere else.

If in doubt ask

a/  your travel company/ airline

b/  e-mail the German Embassy in your country.

If you have the opportunity whilst you are there, I recommend travelling down the River Rhine, both by car, and by boat, its beautiful !

OMG!! that's such a silly question its not like its a disease third world country! I have never ever! need to get shots to go there. Das ist sehr doof! its basically just like the U.S its like asking if you needed to get shots to go to Canada. lol

I don't believe so.  I went last year, and didn't get anything.

No there is not a must, but you should comsider an imunization against measles, for german mums refuse their babies beeing inoculated we have now and then problems. Although the risk is very very low, an infection with measles for an adult is dangerous.

Yes and they are more likely to check if you are from a third world nation too.

They know most Americans, French and Brits have their shots if they have their passports, but even we have to have our immunization shots it is just ours are similar to theirs i believe so i have never been checked at the gates. Only by a Dr if I had to go to one for a problem.

So do make sure all your shots are up to par before going.

DEFINTELY NO! Germany is completely safe as far as infectional diseases are concerned, and our doctors are smart enough to know that immunization protects YOU from a disease, but is completely worthless when you CARRY a disease. The only thing that makes sense is to immunize their own people against all sorts of illnesses, and that's just what they do.

Btw, I travelled to Asia for quite some time, and I had no immunization whatsoever. I reacted some kind of allergical once on a vaccine and the doc said he just wouldn't dare to continue. I'm still alive though.

What´s scary is the fact I live in Bavaria, and in October of 2007, there was an outbreak of measles-something I didn´t get, but could have!

Please check to see if your current US healthcare company covers care for you while in Germany-many don´t provide care outside the US.  You should buy travel health insurance if necessary!

Yes, you have to be vaccinated against rabies, dengue fever, malaria, typhoid, chicken pox. . . . No, I'm just kidding.  Of course you don't need any special immunizations to go there.
